While still maintaining Det.Und's interest in abstract time signatures, and IDM-ish breaks, Vol. 5 peels back the asphalt of the Motor City, exposing the cobblestone, dirt, and detritus that lays beneath, and in the process rediscovers and re-presents a wide range of material from avant-jazz to dub reggae to hip-hop, once again from a variety of artists from the 313 and beyond.
