Picture this: Sweden, 2004, a desolate wasteland devoid of funk. A number of Swedish alcoholics joined forces and cheap synths to make a new brand of Scandinavian electronic funk, or SKWEEE. What is this new kind of music I hear you ask?! The original skweee label, Flogsta Danshall have been drafted in for a split release by the trend setting and current general all round top label Ramp Recordings, in the form of Skweee Tooth. Skweee Tooth drafts in all of skweee music's top producers from the label that started off the whole phenomenon to give you very lucky people a taste of the R n' B/electro/hip hop hybrid that is skweee. Flogsta Danshall was founded in a very small scale in 2004 as the first label releasing what later would be named skweee or Scandinavian-electronic-funk. Alongside Finnish Harmonia, they've lately built up a scene of their own based mostly of hardware liveshows and 7" vinyls. Flogsta Danshall won the first ever skweee sound clash at Sonar 2008. There are nowadays numerous Skweee acts doin' their thing. Among the producers, we find familiar people from bands such as Imatran Voima, Mr Velcro Fastener and Canadian Slow Hand Motem. Finnish Skweee-label Harmonia released their first records 2006 and new labels like Norwegian Dodpop and French Disques Mazout has recently released their first vinyls. With US, UK, French and Spanish producers, the Skweee music is no longer only a local phenomena limited to Finland and Sweden.A1 Easy (5) & Centre Of The Universe - Legend Of Selda A2 Joxaren - Fel I Facit A3 Mesak - Moto-Gucci B1 Rigas Den Andre - Distrordelle B2 Spartan Lover - Sex With A Woman B3 Melkeveien ft.
