You can never have too many Ennio Morricone soundtracks, and when they're presented with this much care and attention, and in their original form rather than being on part of some poorly sequenced compilation or other you've simply got to take a bit of notice. This soundtrack is from Sergio Corbucci's 1967 movie 'I Crudeli' which from the looks of it was a Spaghetti western in that fine tradition. The soundtrack then of course mirrors the subject matter, and we see Morricone in full-on Western mode, with pattering percussion and mysterious, stubbly guitar breaks forming the basis of most of the tracks. The tense mood is occasionally broken by some triumphant brass (as it always is) but you should know what to expect, in my opinion Morricone's Western scores were always stunning, and for crate digging breaks hunters this should be totally indispensable.
