**Limited gatefold edition housed in spotgloss jacket and colour-printed inner** "John Foxx returns to Benge's well stocked studio for a follow-up to their well received 2011 LP 'Interplay'. This sequel of sorts is defined by a rawer, more experimental aesthetic, instinctively guided by a deeply engrained knowledge of their vintage analogue synthesizers and drum machines. It oscillates between evocative instrumentals and proper songs bearing Foxx's pleading vocals, creating a tense, dystopian atmosphere reflective of his classic output. Highlights have to be the physically impressive darkness of 'Rear-View Mirror' with its sumptuous subbass layering, the lushly evocative krautisms of 'The Shadow Of His Former Self' and the stunning comtrails of drugged-up feedback sculpture 'Falling Away', among others. RIYL classic Ultravoxx or Chris & Cosey.
