On the evening of May 6th, 2007 Peter Broderick sat down at a piano and performed a collection of 10 solo piano compositions that would be released by a small Swedish label in 2008 as Docile. Since then, these simple, luminous tracks have defied the gravity of his extensive repertoire and found their way into the hearts of thousands. “Ceasefire” and “Begin” occupy two of the top 3 slots on Broderick’s Spotify page with a collected 2.5 million listens. Docile is a distillation of Peter’s pure musicality. The compositions, recall the poise of Erik Satie’s Gymnopedies, and the minimalism of Philip Glass.
