An unholy welding of glassy, minimal rap production and the sort of robotic vocals Dubstar used to do so well (miss u), Purity Ring scream of 2012, but just about have enough heart to carry them out of the novelty realm into real life. Their songs roll off like a street version of High Places' stark electronic pop, but they inject a hit of dry ice that's straight out of 1985 and the Flashdance soundtrack....
