The A-side is pulled from Andy’s 1974 Atlantic debut Experience And Judgement, while the flip version features Ron Carter on bass and originated on the Troop’s 1971 LP Harlem Bush Music - Uhuru. Bartz, a graduate of The Jazz Messengers and Miles’ school of renegade groove in the early 1970s, mimes Andy’s melody before breaking free for an extended space odyssey. RIP to Andy Bey, one of the most distinct and powerful voices to commit their spirit to tape.
