limited to 300 - Last year, long-serving NYC DJ/producer Joaquin 'Joe' Clausell dropped a single-sided seven-inch single featuring his instrumental disco 'dub' take on Ashford & Simpson classic 'It Seems To Hang On'. Here Claussell returns to the legendary disco-soul duo's catalogue and delivers his revision of 'Stay Free'. A Tom Moulton style disco mix (IE it appears that he's added relatively little new instrumentation, but completely rearranged it and mixed it with the dancefloor in mind), the Sacred Rhythm chief has laid down superb vocal and instrumental takes - both of which clock in at just under 15 minutes. It's basically classy disco perfection which makes the most of Ashford & Simpson's luscious orchestration and infectious grooves.
