‘The Melodic Blue’ offers a confident and fully-realised project, one that shows that he continues to be difficult to pigeonhole. Keem does much to show what all the hype has been about, showcasing his wide-ranging talents over the 16-track release. Some may see it as a lack of cohesion, but he record constantly sees Keem morph between modes, moods and styles; he’s almost impossible to predict or second-guess.
