A dive into the Fania archives unearthed Café, a Latin funk and soul gem on its 50th anniversary. Legendary conguero Ray Barretto produced the one Café self-titled album, released on Vaya Records. The opener “Sí Dame Tu Amor” ripples with funk grooves – sounding like something Barretto would have released himself – while “Identify Yourself” is an absolute jam. Featuring (AAA) lacquers cut from the original master tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio, this reissue is pressed on 180-gram vinyl.
