"Hell And Destruction Are never Filled; So The Eyes Of Men Are Never Satisfied" (Proverbs Ch 27 Vs 20.) is a heavy statement to include on the front cover of your album, but is quite apt for this set of mystical riddims from the usually soulful Cornell Campbell. Largely recorded during the mid-70's in his Gorgon period, this is Campbell on a religious tip under the influence of his Rasta Roots and a time when he called himself the Ruler (or Gorgon in JA parlance) of Dis Ya Dance. Mostly utilising the skills of the legendary Aggrovators and produced by Bunny Lee, 'The Gorgon Dubwise' is a heavy and claustrophobic set of darker riddims featuring biblical quotes from Campbell whose message is only reinforced by the seriosuly spooky production and dreadwise atmosphere hanging heavy over this set. From the unsettling 'Pity The Dub' version of a Roots classic featuring mournful vocals from Cambell set to a terrifically blazed riddim, or the hymnal 'Blessed Are The Dub' a deep religious vein pulses through the set lending it an elevated but trippy vibe that we're sure a lot of you will love.
