Parisian born producer/DJ David Zylberman teams up with Stones Throw recording artist & modern funk legend DāM-FunK on this major France/West Coast collab!
Released on Zylberman's own Spectrum Records imprint, this limited 45 features two hip-hop tempo bangers. DāM-FunK provides the smooth talk and soulful vocals he's known for, introducing us to the city "where the funkstas play" on the catchy lead single "Welcome to L.A." The mainly instrumental b-side "City of Angels" conjures imagery of a sunset drive down PCH.
Zylberman's slapping production is defined by trunk-rattling bass, floating chords, cinematic synths, and drum patterns reminiscent of classic 80's R&B joints by One Way and Loose Ends. Fans of the funk, do not sleep on this one!
