“Ganja Smuggling”, the high-grade herb runner’s anthem from one of Jamaica’s most unique artists, Eek-A-Mouse, is officially back on vinyl. Subject to bootleg pressings in recent years Greensleeves now comes correct with this heavyweight 7” press of the tallest mouse in town’s signature tune backed with a mind-expanding Dub from the Roots Radics.
Surprisingly, “Ganja Smuggling” never came out as a single officially until a limit edition run on Record Store Day 2018, and now, in 2024, this evergreen Greensleeves classic comes in a custom illustrated picture sleeve on Henry ‘Junjo’ Lawes’ original ‘Volcano’ label. Recorded at Channel One in 1982, it has all the hallmarks of the early Dancehall style that became such a crucial part of the Greensleeves ‘sound’.
