Punch Drunk serve a 2nd and final helping of 'Intrusive Incidentalz' from Nick Edwards' Ekoplekz. Like the soundtrack to a warehouse rave in Eraserhead, this is some dark and oppressive gear, absolutely and remorselessly atonal, spitting out nuts and bolts rhythms and constantly struggling to keep its head above the murk. And that's exactly why we love this stuff so much. In contrast with so much modern music it's got a real grime under its fingernails - it's hard-working music, improvised and handcrafted, full of toiling, roiling tones and dissolving patterns which demand attention from the listener in return for the goodness of your psyche and to smear out all the overbuild of shiny shiny polished music.
