Between 1979 and 1981, Frank Hooker and Positive People recorded some of the finest disco-funk to come out of "Go-Go Land" (that's Washington D.C to you and me). Here, Washington imprint Al & The Kidd Records treats us to previously unheard, archive versions of two of the band's most famous tracks: "Ooh Suga Wooga" and "This Feeling". While the A-side version of the former track is worth owning, it's the version of "This Feeling" that's really getting our juices flowing. The stripped-back, disco Dub style production allows the various musical elements - Hooker's killer scat vocals, the mazy synthesizer solos, the proto-go-go extended drum breaks and superb bassline - far more room to breathe.
