2018 repress - With more than one or two nods to classic 80s pop (think early Pet Shop Boys or The Beloved) it was interesting to find out that the bare bones of each track was produced with just two modular synthesizers. This caustic bleep is still present beneath the deep-house thud and arpeggiated posh-trance tropes, and makes an interesting stylistic tic for the band. Overall I'm reminded of late 90s house crossover duo Deep Dish; there is a similarity in the blend of overt pop and silken minimalism.
