If you're partial to French library music of the 1960s, this must be the place. Well, here and the other Initials MB 7" pressing landing on the Funk Night label at the same time, Sweet Tea Corporation. Before rushing to check that out, though, let's focus on what's in front of us - remarkably different and contrasting package compared with the aforementioned. Of course, both feel like they belong on the opening credits of a move. But whereas that is comparatively upbeat stuff and not a million miles from the freshest of golden era hip hop samples, this is a much smoother and sexier, lounging kind of affair. More layered, complicated and musically accomplished, it's another essential if you like rare nostalgia or unearthing unknown finds to build something from in your set.
