"It's been 3 years since the mighty 'Claptrap' came out, and a year or so since that fine Hemlock EP, it's good to finally have a new Joe twelve drop for Hessle. 'Slope' takes a more functional House template as its starting point and gradually imbues it with all manner of drones and found sounds to satisfying effect. 'Maximum Busy Muscle' on the flipside is more organic, not all too dissimilar to something you might find on, say, Powell's Diagonal label, recalling the squashed funk of that recent Shit & Shine EP, or indeed Liquid Liquid's 'Cavern' as reimagined by Matthew Herbert."
