*Blue vinyl* Naked Lunch's new signing, Toronto's Kevin McPhee, makes a canny debut entry backed with an LV remix. 'Get In With You' is possibly a request to James Blake, whom he definitely owes a pint for its chopped vocals and subbass formula. But it's really that subbass which defines this track, billowing out wider-than-wide and plummeting abyss deep with luxurious effect. His other cut 'Bridges' figures at a slower tempo, possibly hypothesising a fusion of Kowton's red-eyed jack and Blake's timbal trickery. Flipside, Keysound and Hyperdub's underrated talent, LV takes 'Get In With You' someplace funkier, tucking it with Kwaito/Funky House touches and gilding it with gliding synths for the shirt and shoes crowd.
