Los Retros, a.k.a Mauri Tapia, may only have just finished high school, but he's on the brink of something much bigger. The nineteen-year-old Mexican-American musician has signed to Stones Throw and is set to release his debut EP this spring, followed by an album later in 2019. Retrospect is a strong debut for Los Retros. It’s infectiously woozy yet still unique in its vintage R&B and electronic tones, and while its six tracks are infused with everything from jazz to psychedelic funk, it all comes together in an impossibly groovy EP.
