MAKADEM is a cross-genre Kenyan musician, performer and thinker. Makadem has made waves worldwide through endless performing and touring for nearly three decades. Makadem offers a unique take on a variety of Kenyan musical genres including benga, ohangla, mugithi and nyatiti music earning him a reputation as a versatile and exciting Kenyan performer. On his fledgling Dagoretti Records release, Makadem performs two staples of his live shows, the haunting "Obongo Bless Me" and the coastal traditional tune "Muhogo wa Jang'ombe" in a completely unplugged and unaccompanied fashion. Makadem represents a bridge between new and old approaches to African music, offering a traditional African soul in a raw form that modern audiences anywhere can enjoy. Edition of 200 copies.
