produced by ALAN OLDHAM (DJ T-1000), featuring remixes by DJ K-1 (KEITH TUCKER/AUX 88) & ULTRADYNE!!
First launched in 1992, Generator became one of Detroit's most revered techno labels for dancefloor techno. Guided by the multi-talented Alan D. Oldham, Generator boasted inspired releases from himself and Woody McBride, remixes from UK superstar Dave Clarke and seminal first releases by Sean Deason, Marco Passarani, and others. In 1996, Oldham made the decision to shelve the Generator label in order to devote his full attention to his newly-formed Pure Sonik label. And now, in 2007, Generator is poised to return. The first new release on the revamped label is "Elektrofive." Produced by Alan D. Oldham himself, this raw slice of Berlin-inspired electroid variations is a radical sonic departure from the usual loop-based DJ T-1000 material you may be familiar with. Keith Tucker a.k.a. DJ K-1, the A.U.X. mind behind the legendary Detroit electro duo Aux 88, establishes his authority with a deeply catchy, melodic, funky remix, while the highlight of the EP is no doubt the incredible Ultradyne remix - as spannered a slice of aquatic electro as you're ever likely to hear. Brilliant stuff - limited copies!
