Launching their second single for Warp, the Portland duo Nice Nice continue to limber up for their forthcoming debut album, Extra Wow. 'See Waves' is a hidge-podge of influences - like a tropical, Steve Reich-inspired krautrock venture with a touch of no-wave about it. This and its predecessor, 'One Hit' represent a solid, confident showcase for the band's experimental pop wares and is bound to find favour with fans of post-Animal Collective bands like Yeasayer. B-side 'We Stayed' is more of a tranced-out raga jam, caking the tribal-style percussion on thick whilst waves of synth and drone cruise off into the distance.
