Finally, Physical Therapy comes thru with his debut release of original material, and it's every bit as surreal and unique as we all hoped. If you'd checked his handful of remixes and mixtapes for the likes of CFCF and DIS Magazine there should be no doubt that this guy has individual swerve; an incisive, super-aware vision of pop and dance music which places him in perfect company with the HIT crew. On 'Safety Net' we're faced with five fractal arrangements of cyber-age synth bliss, R&B memes and stray rave samples organised with an artfully detached and delirious logic. 'Record Sales' sounds like his label mate James Ferraro doing NRG dancefloor music, while 'Drone On' starring Jamie Krasner could be the illegitimate offspring of Jessie Ware and Sharkey & Dougal spawned at a happy hardcore rave in '93, and 'Do It Alone' takes a skewed look at '90s Gospel House euphoria, with added amens. It's going to be too upfront and NOW for many, but for forward thinking listeners, this is massively recommended.
