Masterful machine grooves from the excellent Protect-U duo, dancing to three pure and wildly effective cuts for Planet u. Alongside the likes of Ital/Mi Ami, Innergaze and Beautiful Swimmers, the duo of Mike Petillo (co-owner of the Future Times label with Maxmillion Dunbar) and Aaron Leitko are hailed as the vanguard of a new scene emerging from the unlikely haven of Washington, DC. We caught a Protect-U show last year and it was one of the best all-analogue sets we've heard in ages. This single really captures their fluid, kinetic, psychedelic energy perfectly. From the '86 Jellybean bass pendulations and cruising synth strafes of 'Motorbikes' to the crooked strut of 'Lawndog' and the moon-gazing 'Invisible Halo', their loose, bright and exuberant sound is a joy to dance to, and should rightly be a big part of your summer soundtrack and beyond.
