Volume two of Saint Tropez Orchestra's Themes et Atmospheres doubles down on their soundtrack-funk sweet spot, delivering thirteen tight cuts steeped in library grooves and cinematic flair. A killer contemporary set – one that references the modes of the 70s sound library years, but with a much heavier sound overall. Saint Tropez are a might tighter combo than you'd guess from the Orchestra in their name – and these cuts have great drums, heavy bass, and and some warmer parts on keyboards – all in a style that's like a more compact take on 70s crime/cop modes, with all the sense of action and drama that might imply. Recorded straight to analogue eight-track, it's a confident, sweat-soaked sequel packed with grooves that feel made for crates and dancefloors alike.
