Cultures of Soul Records has teamed up with local Boston disco queen Saucy Lady to put together a 12", released in conjunction with their
Tokyo Nights - Female J-Pop Boogie Funk compilation. Includes a nice modern clubby disco take on Minako Yoshida's "Town" by Saucy Lady – plus the sweet keys & synth flavored "Honey B" on the flip! "Town" has all the disco funky charm of the original version, just down with a bouncier modern sheen – and the dancefloor pedigree is all the more prominent in the instrumental. "Honey B" is another gem with both Japanese and English vocals, with a nice funky bassline.
