Limited picture disc vinyl LP pressing. SSSE, or the Science Slam Sonic Explorers, are a musical science outreach project created in 2013 by University of Basel's Achim G. Reisdorf and Ohm Resistance's Submerged. This project transmits new scientific concepts and discoveries by way of audiovisual delivery. So Bizarrely Twisted is the commemoration of the masterwork of Senckenberg Award winning scientist Reisdorf, a lively discussion of the Opisthtonic Posture, and the taphonomy involved in discovering the causes of this posture. The record is a cornucopia of amazing artists and narrators - Dr. Israel (Method of Defiance, Blood of Heroes) and Nicole Blackman (KMFDM, Golden Palominos) provide the voiceovers on the project, while music is drawn from a variety of backgrounds. The Blood of Heroes reform for one version of the track; Submerged contributes a blistering drum & bass rendering; Corsican dub organist Svevo contributes a long, electro influenced mix; Germany's seetyca further distills the sounds into ambience; last and most inexplicably, there is a Spanish language translation over an incredible Tango version. The picture disc art features the scientific photo of famous Berlin archaeopteryx fossil, and the rear, a gorgeous Esther Van Hulsen painting of the creature, alive. This picture disc is an amazing pieces of art/science/variety, an absolute must own!
