Brown vinyl - "Quite who or what The Chocolettes might be remains shrouded in mystery, but it's common knowledge that Soulphiction is one of several guises adopted by Michel Baumann, of Jackmate notoriety. While the credits say "all tracks by The Chocolettes", presumably it's Baumann who's attributable to these productions. 'Maoamba' leads the way with some expertly deployed 4/4 samba edits, like Jan Jelinek holidaying in Brazil. Variants on this sound are to be found on the flip, with slow churning beats and weird Saharan reed sounds on 'Rise' and a thumping soul edit in the form of 'Jungle AD'.
