Groove heavy synth funk reminiscent of DMX Krew and dreamy string- laden rhythms suggestive of standout tracks on Carl Craig's "More Songs About Food And Revolutionary Art" occupy side A. The flip side is filled with deeper dance floor friendly tracks sonically reminiscent
of the Transmat catalog along with an injection of uptempo tech-house swing elements evocative of Akufen's "Skidoos."
Recorded in the winter of 2011 in Metro Detroit, "More Than A Mara- thon" marks the debut release for Super Public. Predominantly re- corded with analog hardware, the EP has an innate familiarity while still maintaining a focus on the 2012 marketplace.
Rudi Thornburgh has been independently producing electronic music for over 10 years under various names but, most notably, Clocklife. Brett Cimbalik has been playing jazz guitar for the better part of his music career and has transferred his chordal knowledge to synth guitar and electronic production. Together, they form a sound reminiscent of the golden days of Detroit Techno while still exploring new terrain and bridging new ideas.
