The Jack Moves' new record marks an evolution in their sound, blending 80s techno, R&B, and post-disco dance music, while retaining the soulful essence that has become their signature. Love Machine was brought to life under the masterful production of Adan Jodorowsky (Devendra Banhart / Beck) in his Mexico City studio. Jodorowsky — a recent Latin Grammy recipient for Record of the Year for his collaboration with Natalia Lafourcade on De Todas Las Flores — is the son of legendary filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky, and his rich aesthetic adds a unique depth to the album’s production, “blurring the line between what was and what’s next, and making funky soul marmalade and sweet electric jelly.”
