Description

Best example which shows funk music is timeless - these 2 tunes recorded about 30 years ago, but sounds fresh and funky even in 2024!

As a big fans of The Poets Of Rhythm we really thought we have everything from them on vinyl! But couple of years ago we accidentaly found that instrumental of their classic "Practice What You Preach" was never released on vinyl! Whaat? We need it! That's the short story of A-side! Many thanks to JJ Whitefield for his support in releasing this 7" single!

About b-side - it's a long story. If we understand everything right - In early 1993 The Poets signed a contract for 3 albums with Soulciety Records. And after the first album they started to experiement with genres, but the label wanted the material in style of the first LP. So the band started to release the signles themselves under different aliases, such as Organized Raw Funk, The Woo Woo's, Bus People Express, Soul-Saints Orchestra, Whitefield Brothers and so on. "Sticky Sticky Sock-A-Poo" was recorded under alias "Mighty Continentals" and band's vocalist Bo Baral not only sings here, but also plays solo-guitar! Rare situation! Finally it's available on 45!
