limited to 500 - A fantastic celebration of the 100th release of Funk Night Records – a limited package that features four killer cuts from The Soul Surfers – all recorded at the old Melodiya Studios in St Petersburg! "Wizard Of The Hood" has all these nice weird touches around the edges – very spooky sounds at times, but always tied to some nicely breaking drums at the core! "Rhythm 2" is an incredible cut – almost instantly ready for early 90s hip hop sampling – with this killer blend of funky drums and weird keyboards and guitar! "Neva Again" has the drums even heavier and quicker – setting up some well-crafted guitar lines that have the group opening up more melodic territory than usual! And last up is "V" a track that starts with a drum break that's worth the price of the package alone – with great slow funk instrumentation on vibes!
