Soul Surfers have long been cooking up a great mix of deep funk and early 60s Cali vibes on top of signature low-end grooves and echo-laden riffs. 'Still' is a more laidback cut that allows plenty of sunshine and sentimentality in as the guitars arc up to the heavens and cascading keys bring even more heightened emotions. 'The Lightning' is slower, more late-night and introspective with wispy sci-fi leads. The guitars ring out with more authority here and yet more keys layer in an intimate tenderness.
