Description

Vandelux is the musical project of Vancouver-born vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Evan White, known for fusing emotive vocals, shimmering keys, and pulsating beats into genre-blurring electronic pop. Using music as his main outlet for emotion and truth, he channels personal experiences into his songs, drawing listeners into his inner world.

Initially pursuing a career in finance, Evan lived in Luxembourg where boredom led him to experiment with loops on a music-making app. Those early experiments evolved into fully formed songs, and in 2016 he debuted as Vandelux with “Stimulus” and “Bright Lights.” He gained traction with the Lost In Common EP (2019) and Dream State EP (2021), the latter spawning “Matter of Time,” which surpassed 100 million Spotify streams and entered Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. His 2023 debut album When The Light Breaks received critical acclaim from outlets like Earmilk and YourEDM, who called it “the best electronic album of 2023 you probably haven’t heard.” He has collaborated with artists like Marvin Gaye, Tammi Terrell, Mansionair, Emmit Fenn, Nile Rodgers, and Kygo, and performed at major festivals including Outside Lands, Life Is Beautiful, and Bonnaroo.

Vandelux’s sophomore album Closer marks a new chapter, created largely in an attic studio while navigating new fatherhood. Its songs explore closeness—longing for connection or celebrating it. “Swimming In The Dark,” featuring his unborn child’s heartbeat, reflects the emotional shift of becoming a parent. Tracks like “Where You Are” address jealousy and self-comparison, while “Not Letting You Go” (feat. Devan Glover) fuses drum & bass with pop to capture reclaiming love. “Glow” celebrates fleeting highs of parenthood, urging himself to remember them.

Ultimately, Vandelux crafts music as personal therapy—authentic, emotional, and made to help listeners feel closer to themselves and each other.
