Raw punky electro funk from the LA scene of the late 70s - a single that definitely lives up to the image on the label! "Down At The Laundromat" is a dubby funk cut that is nicely tripped out - almost like one of those nuggets you'd find buried on side four of Sandanista, but maybe even a bit rougher overall! "Give It Up Or Turn It Loose" seems to be a cover of the James Brown classic - but it's played at a much faster pace, with frenetic guitars and keyboards - and this offbeat sax line that makes us feel like James Chance has suddenly gotten totally funky!
