"Slowly" is the third album by three Japanese artists who relocated to the US. Mari Ayabe, Yusuke Yamamoto, and K-go Mizutani bring a strong technical facility as well as a delicate musical sensibility that merges hip hop, jazz, dub, shoegazer rock, and ambient touches into a dub aesthetic. Originally released on CD in Japan on the Rudiments label, it is presented here on a double vinyl format with the inclusion of 4 never-before-released tracks. Expanding on "Menina's" unique vision, "Slowly" reveals a warm, clear sound design across a broad variety of instrumental and vocal material.
