Originally released in the late 1990s, “1, 2 Pass It” stands as one of the most iconic posse cuts to come out of D&D Studios, capturing a moment when New York hip-hop’s elite voices came together on one record. Produced by DJ Premier, the track features a powerhouse lineup including Mad Lion, Doug E. Fresh, KRS-One, Fat Joe, Smif-N-Wessun, and Jeru the Damaja. Each artist brings their signature style, trading verses over Premier’s hard-hitting production, making this a definitive example of the D&D Studios sound during its prime era. Reissued on 7” vinyl via D&D Records in partnership with Fat Beats, this release delivers both the original version and the remix, giving DJs and collectors a complete package of one of the era’s most respected collaborations. Recorded and mixed at the legendary D&D Studios, NYC, “1, 2 Pass It” represents the raw energy, lyrical dominance, and collaborative spirit that defined New York hip-hop at its peak. The inclusion of the remix on the B-side adds additional depth, showcasing DJ Premier’s ability to reinterpret and extend the life of a classic record. This release is essential for fans of the Gang Starr Foundation, Boot Camp Clik, and classic 90s East Coast hip-hop, now available in a format built for today’s vinyl resurgence.
