At long last Young Turks reissue FKA Twigs’ debut EP1 for the first time since it's 1st pressing back in 2012. She's obviously done well since EP1, arguably now ranking as one of the world’s most compelling, pre-eminent pop stars with a bevy of premo, experimental producers in tow, and one of this decade’s definitive catalogues tucked tight in the pocket.
Which makes it even more intriguing to return to her earliest work where we can clearly hear Twigs’ later forms coming to life, from the brittle-boned tic and psychoacoustic vocal process of Weak Spot thru the pointillist R&B innovations of Ache to the frosty shiver and insectoid scurry of Breathe, all gesturing ideas which would become gestated, mutated and manipulated with subsequent releases.
