Much like the colourful cobbled streets and lush rolling hills of his hometown of Tbilisi, Georgian-native Gacha Bakradze’s music is characteristically rich, distinct, and seductive. With his previous releases on the iconic Apollo Records praised by Pitchfork and Resident Advisor, Gacha is a stalwart of the Georgian electronic scene. Previously featured on ‘Anjunadeep Explorations 02’ in 2016, Gacha now returns with his upcoming EP - ‘Restless’.
From his nuanced command of subtle arpeggio plucks, to his careful construction of sensuous atmospheres, ‘Restless’ epitomises Gacha’s in-depth musical knowledge and production skills.
Title track ‘Restless’ is a journey through syncopated sixteenths and reverberated jungle sounds, where bongos echo off a grooving sub bass. ‘Image’ is lustrous and bright, accentuating a well-rounded bassline alongside celestial plucks. The Earth Trax remixes introduce a lo-fi aesthetic, taking it back to the old school with wide sampled breaks and 303 synthlines.
The final track, ‘Contactless’, is a Balearic ballad, its melodious arpeggios and dark drones reminiscent of retro 80’s soundtracks, deep dreams, and early-morning walks home.
