The story goes that Smallwood at one stage gave up on music as a possible profession, instead driving trucks for a living, only for a terrible accident to leave him irreversibly blinded. It was this accident that turned Smallwood back in the direction of music, setting up a home studio and releasing a series of 7"s. Giving how difficult it must have been during the '70s and early '80s to get a decent home studio sound, Smallwood's achievements are remarkable. The productions are modern and progressive, embracing synthesizers and post-disco funk as well as more traditional soul sounds, and George's own voice is terrific throughout.A Lady Disco Demo 4:24 B Roller Coaster Demo 4:28
