Iodine 69 - Rhode Trip/East LA Disco - 7" Vinyl

They're not kidding about the "Rhode Trip" on this one -- because the single starts out with a slow-building solo that reminds us of George Duke in the early MPS years -- then builds into a much harder, much heavier tune that's filled with funky drums and fuzzy bass alongside some tightly vamping electric piano! "East LA Disco" is great too -- again starting slow, but grooving things up nicely with a soaring keyboard line over polished rhythms -- hardly the disco of the title, and more in a great 70s-styled Fantasy Records approach to electric jazz!
