DFA's latest signing's J.O.Y. consists of K.U.D.O. (Major Force West, Skylab, Unkle) and Kan Tagaki (major force), who have recorded with and remixed everyone from david axelrod to the psychonauts to de la soul. For their first single, they've enlisted the help of Yoshimi of the Boredoms & Ooioo, resulting in one of the most off-beat, drum heavy pop singles to pass through DFA's doors. On the flip, james murphy & tim goldsworthy's DFA remix goes even more sideways, using new drum and guitar parts and sounding like bjork fronting the slits. Ace.
