We rejoin Asthmatic Kitty's Library Catalogue Music Series at volume.8 with a lovely installment from Kristin Miltner. With a background in video and installation art, composition, and sound design, Kristin is an ideal candidate for this series, especially as she has particular experience creating sound design elements for many popular computer games and toys, including EA's Sims 3 and Sims Animals, plus a number of facebook and iPhone games. Her 'Music For Dreaming And Playing' uses custom built software to create lushly evolving ambient scapes sequenced with an unpredictable nature. The first, or 'Dream Side' comprises of four delicate and elegant constructions, with the highlight being two longer tracks of silky drifting tonal washes. The second side is markedly different, divided into nine shorter cuts ranging from Rephlexian IDM to cutesy electronic miniatures.
