This 1989 outing by Lard saw the coming together of a veritable supergroup: they're made up of Ministry's Al Jourgenson, Paul Barker and Jeff Ward with none other than Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys. The group's sound is a thrashy power punk, which as you'd expect from Ministry, verges on a tough industrial feel, all topped with surreal, faintly alarming lyrics. The opening double-time workout of the title track is counterbalanced by the slowed down chug-and-shuffle of `Hellfudge', while the thirty-two minutes of `Time To Melt' brings the band into full-on, grinding sludge metal territory - it sounds rather like the previous two songs smashed together and then stretched out and slowed down to the point of wooziness.A1 The Power Of Lard 7:28 A2 Hellfudge 4:58 B Time To Melt 31:59
