Up and coming Pittsburgh producer C.Scott takes “(When The) Music Is On” and amplifies its classic east coast vibes. While Buscrates’ original version took its musical inspiration from the legendary Gang Starr, C.Scott’s signature hard hitting drums and precise chops provide a remix very much in the Q-Tip & Large Professor production tradition. Libretto’s meditation on artistic relevance over C.Scott’s timeless & intricately layered boom-bap make a b-side winner that will undoubtedly find its home on a ton of Hip-Hop mix-shows & playlists.
