Soul Man Mel Day is no stranger to working with the all-instrumental band Tito Lopez Combo, having done so to great effect recently on their 'Every Day I Rry' single. Now they return to Funk Night with 'Do-De-Do', a deep cut and filthy funk gem with precision bass and percolating drums. A guttural vocal throws it back to the true school and hot chords add the fuel this fire needs to burn. On the flip, Tito Lopez Combo goes it alone for the instrumental jam 'String 'Em Up' which has a lighter touch and arrows from cinema and library music for its storytelling, slow-motion workout and lavish string sophistication.
