We've not seen Monkey Steak's name for a while now but we've definitely not forgotten the killer 12"s they put out through Werk Discs and Punch Drunk some years back. Those records were Monkey Steak's take on grime and hardcore dubstep flavours produced at a time when not a lot of other producers were tackling that sound with the electronic edge that he attached to his beats. Move some three years down the line to 2009 and he's at it again with a slew of brilliant tracks taking inspiration from Bassline, Booty and B-More, from the TRC or Dexplicit style Bassline rudeness of 'Warpath' featuring longtime collaborator Indi Kaur, to B-More party styles on 'Veuve Edouard' or the Todd Edwards debted 'Sexy Pumpy' this is some strictly party dedicated gear. If you're into Dress 2 $weat, Switch or Northern Line records you'll find something to break a sweat to on this disc.
