2018 reissue - Metaphorical Music is the first solo album of the late Japanese DJ Nujabes. It was released in 2003 under Hydeout Productions. It's a hip-hop/jazz/funk fusion that’s not heard very often. It’s a lot of fun to listen to as elements of ’60s bossa nova jazz, ’70s funk, Miles Davis cool jazz, classical guitar, hip hop, rap, and funk. This wide range of influence keeps listeners on their toes, but doesn’t shock them with each transition.
