2005's debut 12" from Pink Skull, who's been murderous lately with swarms of high profile remixes (Spank Rock, Architecture In Helsinki, etc.) and his exceptional "Chicago EP" where he reworked three classic Chicago house tracks. The awesomely titled "Unicorn Harpoon" is a mish-mash of sounds, with glitchy cut-up vocals(?) sprinkled over a nicely grooving bassline and deep, reverberating tribal drums (which are quickly undercut by those ubiquitous disco hi-hats). "YMAJYNAISHUN" (say the "y"s like "i"s) takes another path entirely, winding up in dark jacking house territory complete with disturbingly filtered vocals before some great big Braxe/Falke style synths come and whap you upside the head. Flipside features a nice techno rework of "Unicorn Harpoon" by Someone Else, aka Sean O'Neal. Pressed on heavy wax with a nice pic sleeve by Free News Projects' Max Lawrence.
